National Event

NATIONAL EVENT OVERVIEW

The Junior Skills Challenge National Event is comprised of participants that achieved the highest scores nationally at the Local Event and Provincial Event stage, in each division. The 2024 National Event date is October 5th, 2024. The Event will be hosted at The Credit Valley Golf & Country Club in Mississauga, Ontario.

ELIGIBILITY

On September 4th, 2024 at 12:00pm ET, Golf Canada will select the top four (4) ranked players in each age and gender category and invite them to compete in the 2024 Junior Skills Challenge National Event. The National Event is hosted by Golf Canada.

EVENT LOCATION 

The Credit Valley Golf & Country Club in Mississauga, Ontario

AGE CLASSIFICATIONS

The top ranked players nationally will be determined in each of the identified age classifications below:
  • Girls 7 to 9 
  • Boys 7 to 9 
  • Girls 10 to 11 
  • Boys 10 to 11
  • Girls 12 to 13 
  • Boys 12 to 13
  • Girls 14 to 15
  • Boys 14 to 15

*the age classifications are based upon the participants' age as the date of the National Event.

**All ties are calculated using an automatic formula built into the National Leaderboard. Ranking is determined by total score, then eliminating driving and then chipping.

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATIONS

Please note that each participant is responsible for booking their own travel and accommodations. A travel subsidy will be provided for each participant. Participants will be asked to submit an expense report and receipts to receive this subsidy.

LOCAL RULES

Participants are welcome to use their own golf ball during the competition.

DRESS CODE

Junior Skills Challenge is proud to partner with Cobra-Puma Golf to provide PUMA uniforms to all participants for the Junior Skills Challenge National Final!

CODE OF CONDUCT

All participants are expected to abide by the Golf Canada Player Code of Conduct. Violations of the Code of Conduct will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct. The Code of Conduct is available on the Golf Canada website (click here to view).

NO SHOW POLICY 

The National Final has a set number of qualifiers - it is important that registered and accepted individuals participate in the event. If you find you cannot compete in the event, you must officially withdraw by contacting Golf Canada at juniorskillschallenge@golfcanada.ca. This allows Golf Canada to replace participants with an alternate. If you cannot compete and do not officially withdraw, you may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION from future Golf Canada and provincial competitions.
